Bringing a New Direction to Tennis and Pickleball

As racquet sports evolve, so do the individuals who lead and shape their communities. Meet Laurent Leclerc, a seasoned professional with over 45 years of experience in tennis and pickleball. From humble beginnings honing skills to directing prestigious clubs and tournaments, Laurent Leclerc has brought unparalleled passion and innovation to the Polo Club of Boca Raton.

A Journey through Racquet Sports
Laurent's journey began playing pros at the age of 10, against the wall, beating players such as Jimmy Connors and Bjorn Borg after watching them play on TV. By 12, he joined a local tennis club, quickly rising through the ranks to represent his region by age 14, holding the top 15 junior rankings in his province. At age 16, Laurent became the adult beginner's instructor for his local club and spent some time working in the construction of tennis courts during the summer. The path continued through coaching, which took Laurent to places such as Jamaica and Mexico to help with coaching development and, eventually, leadership roles at prestigious clubs across Canada and the United States.

Core Values of Success
Curiosity, joy, and relentless passion define Laurent's approach to leadership. Always seeking new ideas and innovations, he fosters a growth mindset among staff and players. The joy of coaching drives them to inspire others, while an unwavering commitment to service ensures every member's experience is exceptional.

Elevating the Experience at Polo Club
Now, as head of the department of Tennis & Pickleball of one of the best country clubs in Boca Raton, Laurent Leclerc is poised to elevate the tennis and pickleball experience to new heights. By focusing on the small details of member interaction and embracing digital innovation, he aims to create a vibrant community where every player feels at home and enjoy a game at exquisite tennis & pickleball facilities.

The Future of Polo's Racquet Sports
Under Laurent's guidance, The Polo Club's tennis and pickleball department will transform. Members can access diverse programming tailored to their interests and skill levels through the POLO PICS program. From social play to competitive tournaments, there's something for everyone.

PICS stands for Play (for the social player in you) - Improve (for the will to improve in you) - Compete (for the competitor in you) - Socialize (for the gregarious and outgoing in you). The Play opportunities will invite all players for level-based play in many formats. The improvement will be in lesson packages with a specially designed curriculum geared towards helping players improve their tactical/technical skills. The Compete will include interclub, club championships, and ladders. Socialize will invite tennis and pickleball players to unique events and exhibitions.

Rewards of Leadership
For Laurent, the most rewarding aspect of their role is inspiring others to reach their full potential. Creating a progressive environment and celebrating milestones motivate athletes to pursue their goals with passion and determination.

Staying Ahead of the Curve
In an ever-evolving landscape, staying informed is essential. Laurent dedicates time each week to learning about the latest trends in sports technology, from coaching methodologies to facility management. By staying curious and connected, he ensures Polo's racquet sports program remains at the forefront of innovation.
As Laurent embarks on this new chapter at the Polo Club of Boca Raton, one thing is clear: the future of tennis and Boca pickleball tournament at the Polo Club is bright under his leadership. With a commitment to excellence and a passion for the game, he's bringing a new direction to racquet sports.
